Silicon is a beneficialplant nutrient found in virtually all soils but not, until now, in hydroponicnutrient solutions. Silicon will strengthen plant cell walls and become abarrier against water loss, fungal infection, particularly mildews, andinsect and mite attack.

Silicates are veryalkaline and care must be taken with its use. Always check the pH after siliconhas been added to the tank.

• dilute with water before adding to tank
